Businesses always want to know if this marketing piece will be the one. Will this increase enrollment? Will this drive traffic to my website? Will this make people recognize my brand?

The short answer is ‘No.’ Yikes!
But don’t worry. The longer version includes an incremental version of ‘Yes.’

People need to see something seven times before they remember it. And that’s just remembering - not necessarily buying or signing up or becoming a loyal follower. Thus, every piece of your marketing is just one small piece of a bigger puzzle. That direct mail just might be the item that gets someone to pick up the phone and call. But will sending out 10,000 direct mail pieces instantly cause 1,000 new customers?

No. Far from it.

Instead, it will be 10,000 new imprints on the minds of your POTENTIAL customers. Then they will see your logo on a vehicle, then they will hear your business name in a conversation at a restaurant, then see it in a program ad, on a billboard, on the t-shirt of a stranger…pretty soon, you have credibility. You’re obviously established, active in the community and ‘I know several people who use their services…I just can’t place who…’

When decision time does roll around for those potential customers, they are more likely to go with the company they have heard so much about. That’s the job of your marketing materials. So get them out there. And then get them out there again. And again. And again…
